Sheikh Yasser Burhami on Yusuf Qaradawi's fatwa concerning Mujahideen in Chechnya

Question: al-Qaradawi has called on Muslims in Chechnya to lay down their arms and live peacefully as part of Russia under the authority of the servant of Russia, the lewd sinner Ramzan Kadyrov, who switched sides and came out against the Mujahideen and became a member of the Russian police.

What is the opinion of the respected Sheikh (Yasser Burhami) regarding these statements?

We ask you for the sake of Allah, to speak the word that will assist your brothers in Chechnya, as the sheikhs of evil are speaking out one after another, day and night to deter them from their Jihad.

Answer by Sheikh Yasser Burhami: Praise be to Allah, peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, and then:

The fatwa by al-Qaradawi is extreme in its condemnation and falsehood! What is the difference between the Caucasus and Palestine?! And why doesn't he give a fatwa to inhabitants of Palestine telling them to be part of the Yahudi (Jewish) state?! O Allah, verily, we renounce this delusion for Your sake.

The original of the fatwa can be read on the website of Sheikh Yasser Burhami.

In relation to this we would like to note that some scholars from Ahlus Sunnah issued a takfir (declaring apostasy) on Yusuf al-Qaradawi, take for example what Sheikh Abu Baseer at-Tartousi said:

"In connection with these and other reasons, we say that he (Yusuf al-Qaradawi) has changed and his beliefs have changed, he permits what Allah has forbidden, he has fallen into evident disbelief, and we see no obstacles issuing a takfir on him, unless he repents before the people for all of the acts and statements of disbelief that are attributed to this man, and Allah knows best."

You can read more of the words of Sheikh Abu Baseer at-Tartousi at this link.

Also, when Sheikh ibn Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy upon him) was told that al-Qaradawi praised the democracy of "Israel", and then at the pulpit he said verbatim the following quote: "Even if Allah announced His candidacy in the election, he would not get such a high percentage of votes, i.e. 99.99%, which the Arab rulers receive", to which Sheikh ibn Uthaymeen replied:

"This is an apostasy", and because of his mockery and the elevation of the creation over the Creator, said:

"He must be called to repentance - he should declare repentance from the same pulpit from which he uttered words of disbelief, but if he does not repent, he must be killed as an apostate".
