(8) Surat Al-Anfal سُورَة الأَنفَال

يَسأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الأَنفَال قُلِ الأَنفَالِ لِلَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَصلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَينِكُم وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ~ُ إِنكُنتُممُؤمِنِينَ

They ask you (O Muhammad SAW) about the spoils of war. Say: "The spoils are for Allah and the Messenger." So fear Allah and adjust all matters of difference among you, and obey Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), if you are believers.

Yas'alūnaka `Ani Al-'Anfal Quli Al-'Anfali Lillahi Wa Ar-Rasūli Fa Attaqū Allaha Wa 'Aşliĥū Dhata Baynikum Wa 'Aţi`ū Allaha Wa Rasūlahu 'In Kuntum Mu'uminina

إِنَّمَا المُؤمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ اللَّهُ وَجِلَت قُلُوبُهُم وَإِذَا تُلِيَت عَلَيهِم آيَاتُه ُُ زَادَتهُم إِيمَانَا ً وَعَلَى رَبِّهِم يَتَوَكَّلُونَ

The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses (this Qur'an) are recited unto them, they (i.e. the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone);

'Innama Al-Mu'uminūna Al-Ladhina 'Idha Dhukira Allahu Wajilat Qulūbuhum Wa 'Idha Tuliyat `Alayhim 'Āyatuhu Zadat/hum 'Īmanaan Wa `Alá Rabbihim Yatawakkalūna

الَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاَةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُم يُنفِقُونَ

Who perform As-Salat (Iqamat­as­Salat) and spend out of that We have provided them.

Al-Ladhina Yuqimūna Aş-Şalaata Wa Mimma Razaqnahum Yunfiqūna

أُولَائِكَ هُمُ المُؤمِنُونَ حَقّا ً لَهُم دَرَجَاتٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِم وَمَغفِرَة ٌ وَرِزق ٌ كَرِيم ٌ

It is they who are the believers in truth. For them are grades of dignity with their Lord, and Forgiveness and a generous provision (Paradise).

'Ūla'ika Humu Al-Mu'uminūna Ĥaqqaan Lahum Darajatun `Inda Rabbihim Wa Maghfiratun Wa Rizqun Karimun

كَمَا أَخرَجَكَ رَبُّكَ مِنبَيتِكَ بِالحَقِّ وَإِنَّ فَرِيقا ً مِنَ المُؤمِنِينَ لَكَارِهُونَ

As your Lord caused you (O Muhammad SAW) to go out from your home with the truth, and verily, a party among the believers disliked it;

Kama 'Akhrajaka Rabbuka Min Baytika Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa 'Inna Fariqaan Mina Al-Mu'uminina Lakarihūna

يُجَادِلُونَكَ فِي الحَقِّ بَعدَمَا تَبَيَّنَ كَأَنَّمَا يُسَاقُونَ إِلَى المَوتِ وَهُم يَنظُرُونَ

Disputing with you concerning the truth after it was made manifest, as if they were being driven to death, while they were looking (at it).

Yujadilūnaka Fi Al-Ĥaqqi Ba`dama Tabayyana Ka'annama Yusaqūna 'Ilá Al-Mawti Wa Hum Yanžurūna

وَإِذ يَعِدُكُمُ اللَّهُ إِحدَى الطَّائِفَتَينِ أَنَّهَا لَكُم وَتَوَدُّونَ أَنَّ غَيرَ ذَاتِ الشَّوكَةِ تَكُونُ لَكُم وَيُرِيدُ اللَّهُ أَنيُحِقَّ الحَقَّ بِكَلِمَاتِه ِِ وَيَقْطَعَ دَابِرَ الكَافِرِينَ

And (remember) when Allah promised you (Muslims) one of the two parties (of the enemy i.e. either the army or the caravan) that it should be yours, you wished that the one not armed (the caravan) should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the truth by His Words and to cut off the roots of the disbelievers (i.e. in the battle of Badr).

Wa 'Idh Ya`idukumu Allahu 'Iĥdá Aţ-Ţa'ifatayni 'Annaha Lakum Wa Tawaddūna 'Anna Ghayra Dhati Ash-Shawkati Takūnu Lakum Wa Yuridu Allahu 'An Yuĥiqqa Al-Ĥaqqa Bikalimatihi Wa Yaqţa`a Dabira Al-Kafirina

لِيُحِقَّ الحَقَّ وَيُبْطِلَ البَاطِلَ وَلَو كَرِهَ المُجْرِمُونَ

That He might cause the truth to triumph and bring falsehood to nothing, even though the Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.) hate it.

Liyuĥiqqa Al-Ĥaqqa Wa Yubţila Al-Baţila Wa Law Kariha Al-Mujrimūna

إِذ تَستَغِيثُونَ رَبَّكُم فَاستَجَابَ لَكُم أَنِّي مُمِدُّكُمبِأَلف ٍ مِنَ المَلاَئِكَةِ مُردِفِينَ

(Remember) when you sought help of your Lord and He answered you (saying): "I will help you with a thousand of the angels each behind the other (following one another) in succession."

'Idh Tastaghithūna Rabbakum Fastajaba Lakum 'Anni Mumiddukum Bi'alfin Mina Al-Mala'ikati Murdifina

وَمَا جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ إِلاَّ بُشرَى وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ بِه ِِ قُلُوبُكُم وَمَا النَّصرُ إِلاَّ مِن عِنْدِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيم ٌ

Allah made it only as glad tidings, and that your hearts be at rest therewith. And there is no victory except from Allah. Verily, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

Wa Ma Ja`alahu Allahu 'Illa Bushrá Wa Litaţma'inna Bihi Qulūbukum Wa Ma An-Naşru 'Illa Min `Indi Allahi 'Inna Allaha `Azizun Ĥakimun

إِذ يُغَشِّيكُمُ النُّعَاسَ أَمَنَة ً مِنهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيكُممِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاء ً لِيُطَهِّرَكُمبِه ِِ وَيُذهِبَ عَنكُم رِجْزَ الشَّيطَانِ وَلِيَربِطَ عَلَى قُلُوبِكُم وَيُثَبِّتَ بِهِ الأَقْدَامَ

(Remember) when He covered you with a slumber as a security from Him, and He caused water (rain) to descend on you from the sky, to clean you thereby and to remove from you the Rijz (whispering, evil-suggestions, etc.) of Shaitan (Satan), and to strengthen your hearts, and make your feet firm thereby.

'Idh Yughashshikumu An-Nu`asa 'Amanatan Minhu Wa Yunazzilu `Alaykum Mina As-Sama'i Ma'an Liyuţahhirakum Bihi Wa Yudh/hiba `Ankum Rijza Ash-Shayţani Wa Liyarbiţa `Alá Qulūbikum Wa Yuthabbita Bihi Al-'Aqdama

إِذ يُوحِي رَبُّكَ إِلَى المَلاَئِكَةِ أَنِّي مَعَكُم فَثَبِّتُوا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا سَأُلقِي فِي قُلُوبِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا الرُّعبَ فَاضرِبُوا فَوقَ الأَعنَاقِ وَاضرِبُوا مِنهُم كُلَّ بَنَان ٍ

(Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes."

'Idh Yūĥi Rabbuka 'Ilá Al-Mala'ikati 'Anni Ma`akum Fathabbitū Al-Ladhina 'Āmanū Sa'ulqi Fi Qulūbi Al-Ladhina Kafarū Ar-Ru`ba Fađribū Fawqa Al-'A`naqi Wa Ađribū Minhum Kulla Bananin

ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُم شَاقُّوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَه ُُ وَمَنيُشَاقِقِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَه ُُ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ العِقَابِ

This is because they defied and disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever defies and disobeys Allah and His Messenger, then verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.

Dhalika Bi'annahum Shaqqū Allaha Wa Rasūlahu Wa Man Yushaqiqi Allaha Wa Rasūlahu Fa'inna Allaha Shadidu Al-`Iqabi

ذَلِكُم فَذُوقُوه ُُ وَأَنَّ لِلكَافِرِينَ عَذَابَ النَّارِ

This is the torment, so taste it, and surely for the disbelievers is the torment of the Fire.

Dhalikum Fadhūqūhu Wa 'Anna Lilkafirina `Adhaba An-Nari

يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا زَحفا ً فَلاَ تُوَلُّوهُمُ الأَدْبَارَ

O you who believe! When you meet those who disbelieve, in a battle-field, never turn your backs to them.

Ya 'Ayyuha Al-Ladhina 'Āmanū 'Idha Laqitumu Al-Ladhina Kafarū Zaĥfaan Fala Tuwallūhumu Al-'Adbara

وَمَنيُوَلِّهِم يَومَئِذ ٍ دُبُرَهُ~ُ إِلاَّ مُتَحَرِّفا ً لِقِتَالٍ أَو مُتَحَيِّزا ً إِلَى فِئَة ٍ فَقَدبَاءَ بِغَضَب ٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَمَأْوَاه ُُ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئسَ المَصِيرُ

And whoever turns his back to them on such a day - unless it be a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own), - he indeed has drawn upon himself wrath from Allah. And his abode is Hell, and worst indeed is that destination!

Wa Man Yuwallihim Yawma'idhin Duburahu 'Illa Mutaĥarrifaan Liqitalin 'Aw Mutaĥayyizaan 'Ilá Fi'atin Faqad Ba'a Bighađabin Mina Allahi Wa Ma'wahu Jahannamu Wa Bi'sa Al-Maşiru

فَلَم تَقْتُلُوهُم وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ قَتَلَهُم وَمَا رَمَيتَ إِذ رَمَيتَ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ رَمَى وَلِيُبْلِيَ المُؤمِنِينَ مِنهُ بَلاَءً حَسَنا ً إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيم ٌ

You killed them not, but Allah killed them. And you (Muhammad SAW) threw not when you did throw but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair trial from Him. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

Falam Taqtulūhum Wa Lakinna Allaha Qatalahum Wa Ma Ramayta 'Idh Ramayta Wa Lakinna Allaha Ramá Wa Liyubliya Al-Mu'uminina Minhu Bala'an Ĥasanaan 'Inna Allaha Sami`un `Alimun

ذَلِكُم وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ مُوهِنُ كَيدِ الكَافِرِينَ

This (is the fact) and surely, Allah weakens the deceitful plots of the disbelievers.

Dhalikum Wa 'Anna Allaha Mūhinu Kaydi Al-Kafirina

إِنتَستَفتِحُوا فَقَدجَاءَكُمُ الفَتحُ وَإِنتَنتَهُوا فَهُوَ خَير ٌ لَكُم وَإِنتَعُودُوا نَعُدوَلَنتُغنِيَ عَنكُم فِئَتُكُم شَيئا ً وَلَو كَثُرَت وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ المُؤمِنِينَ

(O disbelievers) if you ask for a judgement, now has the judgement come unto you and if you cease (to do wrong), it will be better for you, and if you return (to the attack), so shall We return, and your forces will be of no avail to you, however numerous it be, and verily, Allah is with the believers.

'In Tastaftiĥū Faqad Ja'akumu Al-Fatĥu Wa 'In Tantahū Fahuwa Khayrun Lakum Wa 'In Ta`ūdū Na`ud Wa Lan Tughniya `Ankum Fi'atukum Shay'aan Wa Law Kathurat Wa 'Anna Allaha Ma`a Al-Mu'uminina

يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَه ُُ وَلاَ تَوَلَّوا عَنهُ وَأَنْتُم تَسمَعُونَ

O you who believe! Obey Allah and His Messenger, and turn not away from him (i.e. Messenger Muhammad SAW) while you are hearing.

Ya 'Ayyuha Al-Ladhina 'Āmanū 'Aţi`ū Allaha Wa Rasūlahu Wa La Tawallaw `Anhu Wa 'Antum Tasma`ūna

وَلاَ تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ قَالُوا سَمِعنَا وَهُم لاَ يَسمَعُونَ

And be not like those who say: "We have heard," but they hear not.

Wa La Takūnū Kalladhina Qalū Sami`na Wa Hum La Yasma`ūna

إِنَّ شَرَّ الدَّوَابِّ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الصُّمُّ البُكمُ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَعقِلُونَ

Verily! The worst of (moving) living creatures with Allah are the deaf and the dumb, those who understand not (i.e. the disbelievers).

'Inna Sharra Ad-Dawabbi `Inda Allahi Aş-Şummu Al-Bukmu Al-Ladhina La Ya`qilūna

وَلَو عَلِمَ اللَّهُ فِيهِم خَيرا ً لَأَسمَعَهُم وَلَو أَسمَعَهُم لَتَوَلَّوا وَهُممُعرِضُونَ

Had Allah known of any good in them, He would indeed have made them listen, and even if He had made them listen, they would but have turned away, averse (to the truth).

Wa Law `Alima Allahu Fihim Khayraan La'asma`ahum Wa Law 'Asma`ahum Latawallaw Wa Hum Mu`riđūna

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا استَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُم لِمَا يُحيِيكُم وَاعلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَحُولُ بَينَ المَرءِ وَقَلبِه ِِ وَأَنَّهُ~ُ إِلَيهِ تُحشَرُونَ

O you who believe! Answer Allah (by obeying Him) and (His) Messenger when he (SAW) calls you to that which will give you life, and know that Allah comes in between a person and his heart (i.e. He prevents an evil person to decide anything). And verily to Him you shall (all) be gathered.

Ya 'Ayyuha Al-Ladhina 'Āmanū Astajibū Lillahi Wa Lilrrasūli 'Idha Da`akum Lima Yuĥyikum Wa A`lamū 'Anna Allaha Yaĥūlu Bayna Al-Mar'i Wa Qalbihi Wa 'Annahu 'Ilayhi Tuĥsharūna

وَاتَّقُوا فِتنَة ً لاَ تُصِيبَنَّ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْكُم خَاصَّة ً وَاعلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ العِقَابِ

And fear the Fitnah (affliction and trial, etc.) which affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong (but it may afflict all the good and the bad people), and know that Allah is Severe in punishment.

Wa Attaqū Fitnatan La Tuşibanna Al-Ladhina Žalamū Minkum Khaşşatan Wa A`lamū 'Anna Allaha Shadidu Al-`Iqabi

وَاذكُرُوا إِذ أَنْتُم قَلِيل ٌ مُستَضعَفُونَ فِي الأَرضِ تَخَافُونَ أَنيَتَخَطَّفَكُمُ النَّاسُ فَآوَاكُم وَأَيَّدَكُمبِنَصرِه ِِ وَرَزَقَكُممِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ لَعَلَّكُم تَشكُرُونَ

And remember when you were few and were reckoned weak in the land, and were afraid that men might kidnap you, but He provided a safe place for you, strengthened you with His Help, and provided you with good things so that you might be grateful.

Wa Adhkurū 'Idh 'Antum Qalilun Mustađ`afūna Fi Al-'Arđi Takhafūna 'An Yatakhaţţafakumu An-Nasu Fa'awakum Wa 'Ayyadakum Binaşrihi Wa Razaqakum Mina Aţ-Ţayyibati La`allakum Tashkurūna

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لاَ تَخُونُوا اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ وَتَخُونُوا أَمَانَاتِكُم وَأَنْتُم تَعلَمُونَ

O you who believe! Betray not Allah and His Messenger, nor betray knowingly your Amanat (things entrusted to you, and all the duties which Allah has ordained for you).

Ya 'Ayyuha Al-Ladhina 'Āmanū La Takhūnū Allaha Wa Ar-Rasūla Wa Takhūnū 'Amanatikum Wa 'Antum Ta`lamūna

وَاعلَمُوا أَنَّمَا أَموَالُكُم وَأَولاَدُكُم فِتنَة ٌ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ~ُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيم ٌ

And know that your possessions and your children are but a trial and that surely with Allah is a mighty reward.

Wa A`lamū 'Annama 'Amwalukum Wa 'Awladukum Fitnatun Wa 'Anna Allaha `Indahu 'Ajrun `Ažimun

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنتَتَّقُوا اللَّهَ يَجْعَللَكُم فُرقَانا ً وَيُكَفِّر عَنكُم سَيِّئَاتِكُم وَيَغفِر لَكُم وَاللَّهُ ذُو الفَضلِ العَظِيمِ

O you who believe! If you obey and fear Allah, He will grant you Furqan a criterion [(to judge between right and wrong), or (Makhraj, i.e. making a way for you to get out from every difficulty)], and will expiate for you your sins, and forgive you, and Allah is the Owner of the Great Bounty.

Ya 'Ayyuha Al-Ladhina 'Āmanū 'In Tattaqū Allaha Yaj`al Lakum Furqanaan Wa Yukaffir `Ankum Sayyi'atikum Wa Yaghfir Lakum Wa Allahu Dhū Al-Fađli Al-`Ažimi

وَإِذ يَمكُرُ بِكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِيُثبِتُوكَ أَو يَقْتُلُوكَ أَو يُخرِجُوكَ وَيَمكُرُونَ وَيَمكُرُ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ خَيرُ المَاكِرِينَ

And (remember) when the disbelievers plotted against you (O Muhammad SAW) to imprison you, or to kill you, or to get you out (from your home, i.e. Makkah); they were plotting and Allah too was planning, and Allah is the Best of the planners.

Wa 'Idh Yamkuru Bika Al-Ladhina Kafarū Liyuthbitūka 'Aw Yaqtulūka 'Aw Yukhrijūka Wa Yamkurūna Wa Yamkuru Allahu Wa Allahu Khayru Al-Makirina

وَإِذَا تُتلَى عَلَيهِم آيَاتُنَا قَالُوا قَدسَمِعنَا لَو نَشَاءُ لَقُلنَا مِثلَ هَذَا إِن هَذَا إِلاَّ أَسَاطِيرُ الأَوَّلِينَ

And when Our Verses (of the Qur'an) are recited to them, they say: "We have heard this (the Qur'an); if we wish we can say the like of this. This is nothing but the tales of the ancients."

Wa 'Idha Tutlá `Alayhim 'Āyatuna Qalū Qad Sami`na Law Nasha'u Laqulna Mithla Hadha 'In Hadha 'Illa 'Asaţiru Al-'Awwalina

وَإِذ قَالُوا اللَّهُمَّ إِنكَانَ هَذَا هُوَ الحَقَّ مِن عِنْدِكَ فَأَمطِر عَلَينَا حِجَارَة ً مِنَ السَّمَاءِ أَو ائتِنَا بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيم ٍ

And (remember) when they said: "O Allah! If this (the Qur'an) is indeed the truth (revealed) from You, then rain down stones on us from the sky or bring on us a painful torment."

Wa 'Idh Qalū Al-Lahumma 'In Kana Hadha Huwa Al-Ĥaqqa Min `Indika Fa'amţir `Alayna Ĥijaratan Mina As-Sama'i 'Aw A'tina Bi`adhabin 'Alimin

وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُم وَأَنْتَ فِيهِم وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ مُعَذِّبَهُم وَهُم يَستَغفِرُونَ

And Allah would not punish them while you (Muhammad SAW) are amongst them, nor will He punish them while they seek (Allah's) Forgiveness.

Wa Ma Kana Allahu Liyu`adhdhibahum Wa 'Anta Fihim Wa Ma Kana Allahu Mu`adhdhibahum Wa Hum Yastaghfirūna

وَمَا لَهُم أَلاَّ يُعَذِّبَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَهُم يَصُدُّونَ عَنِ المَسجِدِ الحَرَامِ وَمَا كَانُوا أَولِيَاءَهُ~ُ إِن أَولِيَاؤُهُ~ُ إِلاَّ المُتَّقُونَ وَلَكِنَّ أَكثَرَهُم لاَ يَعلَمُونَ

And why should not Allah punish them while they stop (men) from Al-Masjid-al-Haram, and they are not its guardians? None can be its guardian except Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2), but most of them know not.

Wa Ma Lahum 'Alla Yu`adhdhibahumu Allahu Wa Hum Yaşuddūna `Ani Al-Masjidi Al-Ĥarami Wa Ma Kanū 'Awliya'ahu 'In 'Awliya'uuhu 'Illa Al-Muttaqūna Wa Lakinna 'Aktharahum La Ya`lamūna

وَمَا كَانَ صَلاَتُهُم عِنْدَ البَيتِ إِلاَّ مُكَاء ً وَتَصدِيَة ً فَذُوقُوا العَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُم تَكفُرُونَ

Their Salat (prayer) at the House (of Allah, i.e. the Ka'bah at Makkah) was nothing but whistling and clapping of hands. Therefore taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve.

Wa Ma Kana Şalatuhum `Inda Al-Bayti 'Illa Muka'an Wa Taşdiyatan Fadhūqū Al-`Adhaba Bima Kuntum Takfurūna

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُنْفِقُونَ أَموَالَهُم لِيَصُدُّوا عَنسَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَسَيُنفِقُونَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ عَلَيهِم حَسرَة ً ثُمَّ يُغلَبُونَ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِلَى جَهَنَّمَ يُحشَرُونَ

Verily, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend it; but in the end it will become an anguish for them. Then they will be overcomed. And those who disbelieve will be gathered unto Hell.

'Inna Al-Ladhina Kafarū Yunfiqūna 'Amwalahum Liyaşuddū `An Sabili Allahi Fasayunfiqūnaha Thumma Takūnu `Alayhim Ĥasratan Thumma Yughlabūna Wa Al-Ladhina Kafarū 'Ilá Jahannama Yuĥsharūna

لِيَمِيزَ اللَّهُ الخَبِيثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ وَيَجْعَلَ الخَبِيثَ بَعضَه ُُ عَلَى بَعض ٍ فَيَركُمَه ُُ جَمِيعا ً فَيَجْعَلَه ُُ فِي جَهَنَّمَ أُولَائِكَ هُمُ الخَاسِرُونَ

In order that Allah may distinguish the wicked (disbelievers, polytheists and doers of evil deeds) from the good (believers of Islamic Monotheism and doers of righteous deeds), and put the wicked (disbelievers, polytheists and doers of evil deeds) one on another, heap them together and cast them into Hell. Those! it is they who are the losers.

Liyamiza Allahu Al-Khabitha Mina Aţ-Ţayyibi Wa Yaj`ala Al-Khabitha Ba`đahu `Alá Ba`đin Fayarkumahu Jami`aan Fayaj`alahu Fi Jahannama 'Ūla'ika Humu Al-Khasirūna

قُللِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنيَنتَهُوا يُغفَر لَهُممَا قَدسَلَفَ وَإِنيَعُودُوا فَقَدمَضَت سُنَّةُ الأَوَّلِينَ

Say to those who have disbelieved, if they cease (from disbelief) their past will be forgiven. But if they return (thereto), then the examples of those (punished) before them have already preceded (as a warning).

Qul Lilladhina Kafarū 'In Yantahū Yughfar Lahum Ma Qad Salafa Wa 'In Ya`ūdū Faqad Mađat Sunnatu Al-'Awwalina

وَقَاتِلُوهُم حَتَّى لاَ تَكُونَ فِتنَة ٌ وَيَكُونَ الدِّينُ كُلُّه ُُ لِلَّهِ فَإِنِ انتَهَوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا يَعمَلُونَ بَصِير ٌ

And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone [in the whole of the world]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allah), then certainly, Allah is All-Seer of what they do.

Wa Qatilūhum Ĥattá La Takūna Fitnatun Wa Yakūna Ad-Dinu Kulluhu Lillahi Fa'ini Antahaw Fa'inna Allaha Bima Ya`malūna Başirun

وَإِنتَوَلَّوا فَاعلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ مَولاَكُم نِعمَ المَولَى وَنِعمَ النَّصِيرُ

And if they turn away, then know that Allah is your Maula (Patron, Lord, Protector and Supporter, etc.), (what) an Excellent Maula, and (what) an Excellent Helper!

Wa 'In Tawallaw Fa`lamū 'Anna Allaha Mawlakum Ni`ma Al-Mawlá Wa Ni`ma An-Naşiru
