An-Nazi'at [Those Who Pull Out ]

(79) Surat An-Nazi`at سُورَة النَّازِعَات |
|
79:1 | وَالنَّازِعَاتِ غَرقا ً By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence;
Wa An-Nazi`ati Gharqaan | ||
79:2 | وَالنَّاشِطَاتِ نَشطا ً By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers);
Wa An-Nashiţati Nashţaan | ||
79:3 | وَالسَّابِحَاتِ سَبْحا ً And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.).
Wa As-Sabiĥati Sabĥaan | ||
79:4 | فَالسَّابِقَاتِ سَبْقا ً And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.).
Falssabiqati Sabqaan | ||
79:5 | فَالمُدَبِّرَاتِ أَمرا ً And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account).
Falmudabbirati 'Amraan | ||
79:6 | يَومَ تَرجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die),
Yawma Tarjufu Ar-Rajifahu | ||
79:7 | تَتبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up),
Tatba`uha Ar-Radifahu | ||
79:8 | قُلُوب ٌ يَومَئِذ ٍ وَاجِفَة ٌ (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety.
Qulūbun Yawma'idhin Wajifahun | ||
79:9 | أَبْصَارُهَا خَاشِعَة ٌ Their eyes cast down.
'Abşaruha Khashi`ahun | ||
79:10 | يَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَمَردُودُونَ فِي الحَافِرَةِ They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life?
Yaqūlūna 'A'inna Lamardūdūna Fi Al-Ĥafirahi | ||
79:11 | أَئِذَا كُنَّا عِظَاما ً نَخِرَة ً "Even after we are crumbled bones?"
'A'idha Kunna `Ižamaan Nakhirahan | ||
79:12 | قَالُوا تِلكَ إِذا ً كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَة ٌ They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!"
Qalū Tilka 'Idhaan Karratun Khasirahun | ||
79:13 | فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَة ٌ وَاحِدَة ٌ But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19).
Fa'innama Hiya Zajratun Waĥidahun | ||
79:14 | فَإِذَا هُمبِالسَّاهِرَةِ When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death,
Fa'idha Hum Bis-Sahirahi | ||
79:15 | هَل أتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَى Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)?
Hal 'Taka Ĥadithu Mūsá | ||
79:16 | إِذ نَادَاه ُُ رَبُّه ُُ بِالوَادِ المُقَدَّسِ طُوى ً When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa,
'Idh Nadahu Rabbuhu Bil-Wadi Al-Muqaddasi Ţūáan | ||
79:17 | اذهَبإِلَى فِرعَونَ إِنَّه ُُ طَغَى Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.).
Adh/hab 'Ilá Fir`awna 'Innahu Ţaghá | ||
79:18 | فَقُل هَللَكَ إِلَى أَنتَزَكَّى And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)",
Faqul Hal Laka 'Ilá 'An Tazakká | ||
79:19 | وَأَهدِيَكَ إِلَى رَبِّكَ فَتَخشَى And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him?
Wa 'Ahdiyaka 'Ilá Rabbika Fatakhshá | ||
79:20 | فَأَرَاهُ الآيَةَ الكُبْرَى Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles).
Fa'arahu Al-'Āyata Al-Kubrá | ||
79:21 | فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَى But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed;
Fakadhdhaba Wa `Aşá | ||
79:22 | ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسعَى Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah).
Thumma 'Adbara Yas`á | ||
79:23 | فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَى Then he gathered his people and cried aloud,
Faĥashara Fanadá | ||
79:24 | فَقَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الأَعلَى Saying: "I am your lord, most high",
Faqala 'Ana Rabbukumu Al-'A`lá | ||
79:25 | فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكَالَ الآخِرَةِ وَالأُولَى So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression.
Fa'akhadhahu Allahu Nakala Al-'Ākhirati Wa Al-'Ūlá | ||
79:26 | إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَعِبْرَة ً لِمَنيَخشَى Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah.
'Inna Fi Dhalika La`ibratan Liman Yakhshá | ||
79:27 | أَأَنْتُم أَشَدُّ خَلقاً أَمِ السَّمَاءُ بَنَاهَا Are you more difficult to create, or is the heaven that He constructed?
'A'antum 'Ashaddu Khalqaan 'Ami As-Sama'u Banaha | ||
79:28 | رَفَعَ سَمكَهَا فَسَوَّاهَا He raised its height, and He has equally ordered it,
Rafa`a Samkaha Fasawwaha | ||
79:29 | وَأَغطَشَ لَيلَهَا وَأَخرَجَ ضُحَاهَا Its night He covers with darkness, and its forenoon He brings out (with light).
Wa 'Aghţasha Laylaha Wa 'Akhraja Đuĥaha | ||
79:30 | وَالأَرضَ بَعدَ ذَلِكَ دَحَاهَا And after that He spread the earth;
Wa Al-'Arđa Ba`da Dhalika Daĥaha | ||
79:31 | أَخرَجَ مِنهَا مَاءَهَا وَمَرعَاهَا And brought forth therefrom its water and its pasture;
'Akhraja Minha Ma'aha Wa Mar`aha | ||
79:32 | وَالجِبَالَ أَرسَاهَا And the mountains He has fixed firmly;
Wa Al-Jibala 'Arsaha | ||
79:33 | مَتَاعا ً لَكُم وَلِأَنعَامِكُم (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle.
Mata`aan Lakum Wa Li'an`amikum | ||
79:34 | فَإِذَا جَاءَتِ الطَّامَّةُ الكُبْرَى But when there comes the greatest catastrophe (i.e. the Day of Recompense, etc.),
Fa'idha Ja'ati Aţ-Ţammatu Al-Kubrá | ||
79:35 | يَومَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الإِنسَانُ مَا سَعَى The Day when man shall remember what he strove for,
Yawma Yatadhakkaru Al-'Insanu Ma Sa`á | ||
79:36 | وَبُرِّزَتِ الجَحِيمُ لِمَنيَرَى And Hell-fire shall be made apparent in full view for (every) one who sees,
Wa Burrizati Al-Jaĥimu Liman Yará | ||
79:37 | فَأَمَّا مَنطَغَى Then, for him who Tagha (transgressed all bounds, in disbelief, oppression and evil deeds of disobedience to Allah).
Fa'amma Man Ţaghá | ||
79:38 | وَآثَرَ الحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا And preferred the life of this world (by following his evil desires and lusts),
Wa 'Āthara Al-Ĥayaata Ad-Dunya | ||
79:39 | فَإِنَّ الجَحِيمَ هِيَ المَأْوَى Verily, his abode will be Hell-fire;
Fa'inna Al-Jaĥima Hiya Al-Ma'wá | ||
79:40 | وَأَمَّا مَن خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّه ِِ وَنَهَى النَّفسَ عَنِ الهَوَى But as for him who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained himself from impure evil desires, and lusts.
Wa 'Amma Man Khafa Maqama Rabbihi Wa Nahá An-Nafsa `Ani Al-Hawá | ||
79:41 | فَإِنَّ الجَنَّةَ هِيَ المَأْوَى Verily, Paradise will be his abode.
Fa'inna Al-Jannata Hiya Al-Ma'wá | ||
79:42 | يَسأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرسَاهَا They ask you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) about the Hour, - when will be its appointed time?
Yas'alūnaka `Ani As-Sa`ati 'Ayyana Mursaha | ||
79:43 | فِيمَ أَنْتَ مِنذِكرَاهَا You have no knowledge to say anything about it,
Fima 'Anta Min Dhikraha | ||
79:44 | إِلَى رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَاهَا To your Lord belongs (the knowledge of) the term thereof?
'Ilá Rabbika Muntahaha | ||
79:45 | إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُنذِرُ مَنيَخشَاهَا You (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) are only a warner for those who fear it,
'Innama 'Anta Mundhiru Man Yakhshaha | ||
79:46 | كَأَنَّهُم يَومَ يَرَونَهَا لَم يَلبَثُوا إِلاَّ عَشِيَّةً أَو ضُحَاهَا The Day they see it, (it will be) as if they had not tarried (in this world) except an afternoon or a morning.
Ka'annahum Yawma Yarawnaha Lam Yalbathū 'Illa `Ashiyatan 'Aw Đuĥaha |
