The Ill Effects of Sin
Author: Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Saalih al-’Uthaymeen
| Language:
English | Size:
860 KB | Pages: 19 |
Format:
PDF
In an age of materialism when everything
that happens is attributed to materialistic causes, we hope that
this booklet will help to correct the misunderstandings of many
of our brothers and sisters who fail to realise the consequences
of sins and disobedience to Allaah, the Most High. We pray that
this realisation results in the Muslims as a whole becoming
better slaves of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, by abstaining
from sins and disobedience and turning to the worship of Him
alone – aameen.

The Major
Sins
The
major sins are those acts which have been forbidden by Allah in the
Quran and by His Messenger (SAW) in the Sunnah (practise of the
Prophet), and which have been made clear by the actions of of the first
righteous generation of Muslims, the Companions of the Prophet (SAW)
There is some difference of opinion among scholars in this regard. Some
say these major sins are seven, and in support of their position they
quote the tradition: 'Avoid the seven noxious things'- and after having
said this, the propeht (SAW) mentioned them: 'associating anything with
Allah; magic; killing one whom Allah has declared inviolate without a
just case, consuming the property of an orphan, devouring usury, turning
back when the army advances, and slandering chaste women who are
believers but indiscreet.' (Bukhari and Muslim) 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas
said: 'Seventy is closer to their number than seven,' and in this book
Imam Dhabi goes through the 70 Major Sins Supported by the Qur'an and
the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) The Author Muhammad bin Ahmad
bin `Uthman bin Qaymaz at Turkamani, Shams al-Din al-Dimashqi al-Dhahabi
al-Shafi`i (673-748 AH), the imam, Shaykh al-Islam, head of hadith
masters, critic and expert examiner of the hadith, encyclopedic
historian and biographer, and foremost authority in the canonical
readings of the Qur'an. Born in Damascus where his family lived from the
time of his grandfather `Uthman, he sometimes identified himself as Ibn
al-Dhahabi - son of the goldsmith - in reference to his father's
profession.

Disallowed Matters
Author: Sheikh Muhammad Salih al-Monajjid
| Language:
English | Size:104KB |
Pages: 17 |
Format: PDF
There are many things that have been prohibited
in the Qur’aan and Sunnah, and it is very important for the Muslim
to know about them so that he can keep away from them and thus avoid
earning the wrath and anger of Allaah or bringing about his own doom
in this world and the next. So I thought of compiling this list of
prohibited things, in accordance with the hadeeth of the Prophet
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Religion is sincere
advice (al-deen al-naseehah),” and in the hope that it will be of
benefit both to myself and to my Muslim brothers. So I have compiled
what information I could from the Qur’aan and from the ahaadeeth
classed as saheeh by the scholars who specialize in this field
(relying mostly on the reports classed as saheeh by al- ‘Allaamah
Muhammad Naasir al-Deen al-Albaani in his books). Topics are grouped
according to the classifications used in fiqh (Islamic
jurisprudence). I have not quoted every hadeeth in full, only the
relevant parts. In most cases the reports include words which
clearly indicate prohibition (such as “Do not.”), and I have
explained the reason for the prohibition in some cases. I ask Allaah
to help us to avoid sin and wrongdoing wherever it exists, visible
or hidden, and to accept our repentance. Praise be to Allaah, Lord
of the Worlds.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day
Author: Muhammad Saleh al-Munajjid
| Language:
English | Size: 1MB |
Pages: 18 |
Format: PDF
Allaah (swt) has chosen for us Islam as our
religion and He will not accept any other religion from anyone, as
He says (interpretation of the meaning): “And whoever seeks a
religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in
the Hereafter he will be one of the losers [Aal ‘Imraan 3:85] And
the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told us that
groups of his ummah would follow the enemies of Allaah in some of
their rituals and customs, as it says in the hadeeth of Abu Sa’eed
al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him), who narrated that the
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “You will
certainly follow the ways of those who came before you, span by
span, cubit by cubit, until even if they were to enter a lizard’s
hole, you would follow them.” We said, “O Messenger of Allaah, (do
you mean) the Jews and Christians?” He said, “Who else?!” This Book
focusing on the history of valentines day and the permisibility of
muslims celebrating it.

The Islamic Ruling On Music And Singing
Abu Bilal Mustafa al-Kandi | Language:
English | Format: PDF | Pages: 53 | Size: 1 MB
The legality of music and singing in the Islamic shari’ah (the
divinely-revealed law) is an issue which is hotly debated among
individuals and scholars in Islamic societies of our present day.
Arriving at the correct view requires unbiased, scholarly research
of the available literature which must be supported by authentic,
decisive proof. A considerable amount has been said and written both
for and against this subject, and the proliferation of doubt and
confusion necessitates another more critical, meticulous analysis
and assessment of this whole matter, in order for one to come to a
clear, decisive conclusion which leaves not the least bit of doubt
in the mind of the reader. In hope of acheiving such a difficult and
lofty goal, I have applied a distinctive method which I trust, by
Allah’s leave, will succeed in achieving these treasured aims and
objectives.

Why Do You Smoke
Muhammad Bin
Ibrahem al-Hamad | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 16 | Size: 1
MB
Why Do You Smoke ?: A discussion with
our smoking brothers regarding the prohibition of smoking.
Smoking is a dangerous
epidemic and a destructive adversity that catches many people in its
trap. Many of them have live hearts and strong Islamic emotions, yet
they are afflicted with smoking and do not deny its harm, its effects
and its prohibition. They hope to give it up, and strive to get rid of
it. Such people have a right upon their brothers to help them and take
their hands to the shore of safety.
If you ask any smoker why
he smokes, you would receive many different answers. Some people smoke
when they need relief from depression; others smoke to ease the stress
of estrangement from their families. Some people smoke with friends to
have fun, while others smoke to rid themselves of worry and anger. There
are those that smoke to imitate those whom they admire, or perhaps they
smoke because they have been doing it from a young age and cannot stop.
You will even find those who say, “I smoke because it is useful, and I
do not believe it is prohibited.”
These are generally the
excuses smokers give, and based on this, allow me, my dear beloved
smoking brothers, to discuss this issue with you for a short while, and
perhaps we will come to a satisfying conclusion.

English | Format: PDF | Pages: 16 | Size: 1 MB
A short booklet oultining the evil consequences of adultery and
fornication and its detrimental effects on the individual and society.
Adultery and fornication bring about great corruption and evil which
spread easily. Major evil effects result these which cause serious
damage to those who commit it as well as to the Muslim nation as a

are many avenues that lead to them, the evils consequences and great

Major Sins
Imam Shamsu
ed-Deen Dhahabi | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 192 | Size: 2
MB
Major sins are defined as what is forbidden by Allah and His Messenger
in the Qur’an and the Sunnah in addition to what is narrated on the
authority of early Muslims. Allah, the Most high, promises whoever
avoids the major sins to expiate his minor sins. Allah, the Almighty
says, {If ye (but) eschew the most heinous of the things which ye are
forbidden to do, we shall remit your evil deeds, and admit you to a gate
of great honour.}(An-Nisaa :31).

great confusion, where the truth is mixed with falsehood, in which non
distinguish between the two except for those Allah given the criterion.
Allah says,
{O you who believe, if you
have taqwaa1 of Allah, He will give you criterion (to
differentiate between truth and falsehood)…} [Surah al Anfal(8):29]
